What is Excel of the Lamb?
Excel is a weekend retreat or Christian Exercise designed for personal spiritual growth that helps to build, strengthen, and motivate individuals who, in turn share this growth with their churches and their communities.
Excel was adapted by the UFMCC in 1975 from the "Cursillo" movement founded by Bishop Juan Hervas and a team of lay people in Spain in 1949 under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Church.
Throughout the weekend, various activities are planned which will open the EXCEL experience to each of you. Since all the parts fit together
and build on each other, participants must be present for the entire weekend. As much as you are able, we ask that you enter a weekend in a spirit of detachment from all other concerns and distractions.
This retreat is conducted by the Excel of the Lamb Team, consisting of graduates of past Excel weekends. This team has been conducting weekends since 1991 to bring an experience of awakening and renewal in Christ to all faiths.
The first phase of the Excel experience is called "An Exercise in Christian Community Living". The heart of Excel is the weekend; an experience which is basic to our spiritual, social & personal growth as believers in Christ. Many have grown dramatically in their walk with God and have found in their walk that their church experience has become richer and more meaningful as a result of this one weekend.
The second phase is called "Excel in Faithfulness". This is a new
experience to help further our ideal of life in union with God. It is another weekend that helps strengthen and help keep alive our commitment to Christ through Faithfulness. Excel believes that God has called each of us to an important and crucial ministry of service in the name of Jesus Christ. Not only does God call us into ministry, but supplies everything we need to accomplish what we must.
The Excel of the Lamb team prepares all year for a weekend retreat. We have literally seen hundreds of lives change and thank God for calling us to
this ministry.

The next Excel of the Lamb Spiritual Retreat, "An Exercise in Christian Community Living", will be at the Marywood Catholic Retreat Center in St.Johns, Florida 32259, October 5-7, 2012. Marywood sits on appromixately 110 acres on the St. John's River. Their mission is to aid the process of spiritual renewal and faith development. They have motel styled rooms and buffet style dining.
Cost:
$175.00 per person, which includes lodging, meals and all materials.
A $75.00 NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-TRANSFERABLE depost along with your application form will hold your space until August 15, 2012 when the remainder of the balance is due. We offer the opportunity to make payments after the initial deposit.
All participants must arrive between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. Friday and remain until the retreat is completed on Sunday afternoon. We also ask that you not leave or have guests during the weekend.
